NIMA: The place to get CoolSculpting in Salt Lake City

Posted by Nima | February 22, 2021

CoolSculpting is hot right now. While that sounds like an oxymoron it’s still true. CoolSculpting is a big deal, with tons of people getting done. But where should you get CoolSculpting done in Salt Lake City? Is there even a place to get CoolSculpting done here? Because let’s face it, we are a city, but we’re a small one. We don’t always have everything that larger cities do. But there are a few different places that you can get CoolSculpting done in SLC. The best one is the NIMA Institute.

Admittedly, since that is us, we’re a little biased. But we’re willing to prove to you that we are the best place to get CoolSculpting done in the whole Salt Lake Valley. And that’s exactly what this article aims to do. So, let’s get started.

What exactly is CoolSculpting?

Let’s start with some education first. After all, that’s what we’re all about at the NIMA Institute. So, let’s give an overview of what CoolSculpting is and how it works.

You’ve probably heard about CoolSculpting in ads where they talk about “freezing away fat.” While that sounds too good to be true, it actually is true. Every kind of cell in the body has its own temperature where it freezes and dies. Usually, these temperatures vary from cell type to cell type. Fat cells freeze at a high (i.e., warmer) temperature than the cells around them, mainly skin and muscle. The idea is that if you expose the fat cells to that temperature for a certain amount of time, the fat cells will die, but the other cells will be left alone. This is what CoolSculpting is, killing fat cells in a way that’s safe for the rest of the body.

The way that CoolSculpting treatments go is part of the reason why it is so popular. Each of your CoolSculpting sessions will start with the technician placing a protective pad on the target area. This pad is an added piece of protection, because, though CoolSculpting is considered safe, it is always a good idea to make sure that everything is a safe as possible. Then the technician will put the CoolSculpting applicator in place (on top of the protective pad) and turn it on. The applicator will run for a specific amount of time, during which many people read or nap. During this time, you may notice an odd sensation of tugging or pinching. This is completely normally and not something to worry about. The sensation will soon go away as the area may become numb. This also normal and will also go away a little while after the session is over. Once the time is up, the technician will turn off the applicator, remove it and the pad, and message the target area. The messaging is done to help start up the breaking down process that gets rid of the fat cells. Then you are ready to go.

That last part is actually one of the biggest draws of CoolSculpting out of all of the other weight loss procedures. Because CoolSculpting is not invasive and does virtually no damage to anything on the body but the fat, there is no recovery time. There is no need to take time off or anything like that. You can just go from your CoolSculpting session to the rest of your day.

But there are, of course, things that should be noted about CoolSculpting. One is that it may take a while for it to take effect. You have to allow time for your body to notice that the cells are dead and to get rid of them. How long it takes for CoolSculpting to take effect depends on a few factors, including how many sessions you need, how long those sessions last, and how much fat is in the target area. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to four months to see any real effects, so you will need to be patient.

One more thing that you should be aware of in reference to CoolSculpting is that it doesn’t work for everyone. There are some people on whom the treatment could be unsafe or just won’t work. CoolSculpting is designed with people who are close to their ideal weight but are struggling with some stubborn fat. This means that it will not work for those who have been diagnosed with obesity. There are certain conditions, especially those that make you more susceptible to the cold, that make CoolSculpting unsafe for some. If you’re not sure if CoolSculpting is safe for you, be sure to consult your doctor.
